I was called a Kevin Durant hater today which is hilarious. I don’t hate that guy, I don’t even necessarily dislike his move. I just wished that he would have owned up to his decision and not try to play the victim during the season. That was my only beef.
We know you and Draymond were cool, even when he was kicking your former teammate in the nuts. We know you met with Steve Kerr the previous season to “discuss” things. We know how you threw shade at Russell Westbrook after leaving OKC and didn’t even tell him you were leaving. Hell, we know you blew a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference finals to Golden State the previous year and your ability to be clutch has been questionable. We know Golden State beat you and won 73 games last year and you joined their team. We also know that you don’t brush your damn hair but so what? You are a free agent and can do whatever you want to do. Now go out there and go get your ring. The hell with what we the fans or media says, it is all about what makes you happy. Good luck.
See, now this should be the end of my post but nah, these overzealous fans wanted to keep talking. The number one argument was that it is LeBron’s fault, he started it. Then I heard the argument that the NBA has always had super teams, this is normal.
Have you ever made a post about the opposite sex? Like maybe you posted most women cheat and then a woman comments, “well men do it too” or “men cheat more” or vice versa? Lol, doesn’t that annoy you? Well that is what the argument people
Well, that is how I feel when I see these responses. First of all, if you think what LeBron did was wrong then you should feel the same way about Durant. Wrong is wrong…right? Lol.
Second of all what Durant did was unprecedented and I hope that it starts a trend. I am always a fan of players controlling their own destiny instead of being held hostage to some team or city who drafted them. People always make the comparison of sports to our “normal” jobs and yes there are similarities but at least we get to pick where we work.
Lastly, this is not the same as LeBron or anyone ever. LeBron didn’t lose to Boston in the playoffs after blowing a 3-1 lead while with Cleveland only to then join them the following year to attempt to get his first championship. Yes, LeBron joined Wade who was on the All-NBA team that season along with All-Star Chris Bosh in Miami but it’s not like he went to a team that already had 3 All-NBA players from the previous season. Oh wait, he did, Steph, Draymond, and Klay made the 1st, 2nd and 3rd team last year. So basically out of the top 15 players, the previous season 4 started the season as Golden State Warriors. LeBron left Mo Williams, Durant left Russell Westbrook. Equally talented players huh?
Let me take a further trip down memory lane. I am sure that before LeBron someone else did this. Boston and their big 3? No management made that move. Wait I got it, Ray Allen, to the Heat after losing to them the previous year, Karl Malone to the Lakers and Charles Barkley to the Rockets. They teamed up to attempt to win a title.Yes, they did but once again there is a major difference. None of these guys were in their prime. That Houston team with Barkley, Pippen, and Hakeem was old. The Lakers team had Kobe and Shaq but the other parts of their “big 4” Payton and Malone were nowhere near their prime and Ray Allen was good but he was a glorified role player at this stage of his career. Still not the same because everyone on Golden State is in their prime

Look at the team. Steph (29) is a two-time MVP and arguably the greatest shooter ever. Klay (27) is also one of the best shooters we have ever seen and a damn good perimeter defender. Now we look at Draymond (27) who is always in the running for DPOY (defensive player of the year) and one hell of a player overall. With those 3 and role players, they won 1 title, went back to back to the finals and won 73 games last year.
This is the team Durant (28) decided to join, while still being in his prime. I am sorry boys and girls, this is not the same. This is unheard of and should be amazing to watch.
As far as the super team’s argument, fair enough. Hell, the league has been around for 70 years and well you can look at 5 teams. The Celtics, lakers, bulls, spurs and warriors being responsible for 48 of the titles.
I say all of this to say one thing, I hope you guys really like Golden State because the way things are looking I don’t see anyone beating them for quite some time. Hopefully, other players will follow Durant’s lead and team up so they can find a big 4 to at least attempt to beat them. Oh yeah and I am not mad at KD, do your thing. Hope it makes you happy.
